This promises to be an interesting and informative lunch visit - featuring an informal exploration of tastings, wine pairings, and Hungarian cuisine. Hosted by His Excellency, Mr Ferenc Kumin, Ambassador of Hungary to the Court of St. James. Magyar cuisine, from Hungary, is one the least known and most flavourful and rich cuisines of the world. Regarding their wine - the world's first vineyard classification was established in Tokaji in Hungary in 1730 by royal decree, long before Bordeaux or Burgundy! While some escape to sunnier climes at this time of the year, those left at home to enjoy a glorious English Summer. Sometimes cloudy, sometimes sunshine, and even the occasional rainy spot; nevertheless, we never miss the opportunity to have a day out enjoying genuine hospitality when we were given the opportunity to attend a luncheon at Phyllis Court, Henley on the Thames. Revolve – Broadgate Circle – April 2023
Gastronomes gathered once more in April and were hosted by Gastronome, Andrew Fishwick at ‘Revolve’ located in the now famous Broadgate Circle, 100 Liverpool Street – one could say in the heart of the City of London (The Square Mile) For some the City is one of those places that is either a forest of high rise offices or of ancient buildings and medieval history. RdG Summer Outing 2023
A wonderfully hot day for members and guests, 48 in total and met around 11:00 for tea or coffee and biscuits in the garden, of Le Manoir, it was glorious in the sun. Lots of conversation took place as members gathered. Afterwards there was a tour of the large gardens, for those that wanted with very positive comments. Then time for the reception, still in the garden, with Veuve Clicquot Champagne and some interesting and delightful canapes.
