Once again, we return to one of our members’ favourite haunts for our traditional’ Grouse Supper – L’Escargot.

The start of the autumn season is hailed as the ‘Glorious 12th ’’ and the Grouse season, in particular, is relatively short –  lasting only till 10th December. La.st year, in particular the game was in very short supply indeed – so we suggest you take advantage of this opportunity to sample the delights of this most traditional of suppers

Game shooting is a powerful illustration of how human activity can positively impact the environment and rural economy. By embracing sustainable practices and conservation efforts, the shooting community plays a vital role in preserving natural habitats, supporting local economies, and upholding cherished traditions. This symbiotic relationship between game shooting, the environment, and rural communities exemplifies the potential for harmonious coexistence between human activity and the natural world (Acreage rural 2023).

We do not debate the pros and cons but await each year for the season of new produce for our culinary delight!

You will know the excellent format and quality that fellow Gastronomes Brian Clivaz and Head Chef James ‘Jimmy’ Tyrrell always provide:
