Many Gastronomes were present to celebrate the 80th Birthday of the Past-President Chris Briere-Edney at the Inn Holders Hall.

The Hall was filled to capacity with many past and present Gastronomes, including Michael Williams, Keith Pattison, Peter Webber, Past President Adrian Bannister & Chef Patron Herbert Berger (reflecting a total of 250 years of Reunion membership).

Herbert Berger created a menu of classic dishes accompanied by a wine selection generously provided from the hosts personal cellar.

The Traditional `Santé Du Chef ‘paid tribute to the career of Herbert and his contribution to gastronomy in the capital city. Herbert is a rarity amongst celebrity chefs in that he is always in the kitchen; an individual who has successfully made the transition from Michelin star chef to now providing some of the finest banqueting fayre within the square mile, with dishes which acknowledge modernity but never lose sight of the classic tradition; dishes of culinary structure with natural combinations of seasonal ingredients (strictly no de-constructed sherry trifle!)

It was indeed a most delightful luncheon with the company of fellow Gastronomes and friends.
