Currently heading the provision of high quality support services at University of Brighton – Former Chair of TUCO (The University Caterers Organisation) April 2010-Sept 2016, current Director and ranked as one of the Public Sector ‘Most Influential Top 20′, for the past five years. Winner Public Sector Catey 2015, sustainable business Catey 2016, Cost Sector Catering Awards – Campus Catering 2017.

Julie is a qualified chef, a total foodie and passionate advocate of the Industry. Awarded PGcert in hospitality management also a member of the Women 1st Top 100 Club, Fellow of Institute of Hospitality and a Fellow of the BII, member of Institute of Directors, Reunion des Gastronomes. Ambassador for the Gold Service Scholarship and founding member of WXN. Julie led the development for the SRA ranking of businesses within the HE sector, and the development of EAUC Green Gown award for the hospitality sector. Under Julie’s Chairmanship the development of a training academy specifically for the hospitality sector within HE and FE was launched.

TUCO (The University Caterers Organisation) is the lead professional body for the hospitality Industry within Higher and Further Education. With around 500 members in its fold, TUCO has represented best practice in on-site university catering for the past 53 years remaining totally committed to education, skills and training within the sector. The organisation provides quality standards, advice and information as well as the platform for commercial advantage.

TUCO supports those who are passionate to drive health, well-being and sustainability. It also provides a procurement function which works to drive value for money through collaboration. The supplier frameworks are not just restricted to the Higher & Further Education sectors but available to the wider public sector.
