Supper at Colombier

February 11, 2013

Dear Member,

As you are aware we are holding the AGM in March but prior to that I would like the opportunity to meet with you in an informal setting.

I am aware that members have strongly held views, which are not always voiced within the formal structure of the AGM and so this is an informal “working supper” where members will have the opportunity to make their views felt regarding the future direction of the Reunion. Your input will also be extremely helpful for your incoming president; Philippe Rossiter, in the formulation of his plans for the ensuing 2 years.

Our host is fellow Gastronome Didier Garnier, to whom many congratulations are due for saving one of Chelsea’s most popular restaurants, for the past 15 years, from closure. Fortunately planners refused the landlord permission to build flats above the restaurant, which would have made the venue inoperable! More than 50 patrons were at this week’s council meeting where the plans were soundly rejected (regulars incudes Sir David Frost, Lord Archer and Brian Ferry). Didier is doing us a very special deal with supper including aperitif and wine at £45.

I am extremely keen that Past Presidents and Committee members attend, as well as many fellow Gastronomes as possible.

I look forward to welcoming you to the Colombier and hearing your views at this very important juncture.

Regards.

Adrian Bannister – President
