A return to the recently re-furbished Four Seasons Hotel resulted in an evening which was, quite understandably, over-subscribed and many disappointed members were unable to gain a place. (Editor’s Tip—Book early to avoid disappointment!)
Prior to grace ,given by member Rev Roddy Leece from” the Gastronome’s Church”, St George’s Hanover Square ,Past President Chris Briere-Edney said a few words concerning the sad passing of our fellow gastronome ,Eddy Lumsden who for many years was the main Board Director of Catering for Harrods Department Store. Eddy was a strong supporter of the Reunion and a delightful dining companion who will be sorely missed.

President’s first supper was a great success.
Executive Head Chef Adriano Cavignini, recently returned from the Eden Hotel, Rome, where he gained the coveted Michelin star, produced a menu which reflected his Italian culinary passion and very different from standard Park Lane banqueting fayre. Many members commented on the refreshing (but substantial! ) format which commenced with classic Antipasti served family style on the table. Particular accolades for the warm sweetbread salad and Sea Bass Carpaccio.
The wines served throughout were extraordinarily generous. Really good examples of Pinot Grigio and Verdicchio, but the star of the show was the Barbera D’Alba served with the Osso
Many “establishment” members and guests were present including David Levin from the Capital Hotel, Harry Murray from Lucknam Park and Anton Mosimann with fellow Swiss, Head Chef Jerome Henry.
The president was delighted to welcome his personal guest, Bruno Loubet who achieved the
Michelin star for the Four Seasons many years ago. Now, Chef/Patron and co-director, with Mark Sainsbury, of the much acclaimed Zetters Hote,Bruno was in turn re-united with his old boss, member Ramon Pajares.It was truly the return of “The Dynamic Duo”!
John Stauss is to be congratulated for establishing an outstanding team so quickly after the reopening and who maintain the superb standards of hospitality for which the Four Seasons is justly famous. John, thank you for your outstanding generosity!
